DIY Makeup Remover for Acne Prone Skin

Commercially sold makeup removers can be harsh on the skin due to their chemical ingredients. They can cause the skin to become drier and dull. Not to mention, everyday makeup application takes its toll on your skin too.

While there are plenty of homemade makeup removers that you can make, only a few can be used on acne-prone skin because of the oil-based ingredients. In our recipe today, you can rest assured that all ingredients will neither make skin oily nor dry.

The Cucumber and Milk Makeup Remover

The combination of cucumber and milk is VERY good for the skin. Aside from removing makeup, it can moisturize and calm the skinwhile reducing dark undereye circles and eye puffiness.

Step 1

Gather all the ingredients and tools you will need:

  • Cucumber
  • Milk
  • Glass
  • Mortar and Pestle
  • Storage Jar

Step 2

Slice a 2-inch piece of cucumber and peel off the skin.

Step 3

Crush the cucumber using the mortar and pestle. Make sure the cucumber is all crushed up!

By the way, you can use any type of crusher as long as the cucumber ends up mashed.

DIY Makeup Remover Cucumber and Milk-Step 4

Once the cucumber is crushed, mix it with a couple of tablespoons of milk. The amount of milk will really depend on your preference.

Are you done mixing? Pour the mixture into a small storage bottle and keep it chilled in the fridge. This all-natural mixture can only last you 3-4 days.

Use a cotton pad to soak up some mixture and wipe makeup off the face gently.

Store and chill your secret elixir

Jojoba, Vitamin E and Essential Oil Makeup Remover

These oils are the finest oils you can use on the skin so it won’t leave your skin oily and won’t clog your pores at all!

Step 1

Gather all the ingredients and tools you need:

  • Jojoba Oil
  • Vitamin E capsule
  • Essential Oils (Witch Hazel, Tea Tree Oil or Rosemary)
  • Storage Bottle

What you’ll need

Step 2

Pour 1 tablespoon of Jojoba Oil into the storage bottle. You can add a little more if you want because Jojoba oil is very light on the skin and non-greasy too!

Use 1 tablespoon of Jojoba Oil

Step 3

Crack a Vitamin E capsule and pour the contents into the storage bottle to infuse it with the Jojoba Oil.

Mix the Vitamin E

Step 4

Just add a few drops of your favorite essential oil. Tea Tree is really good for acne-prone skin, while Rosemary and Witch Hazel are great for their anti-aging abilities.

Add your essential oil of choice

For this recipe, you need not store it in the fridge, it will harden by itself. Just leave the makeup remover at room temperature and use with a cotton pad whenever you need to remove makeup from your face.

Both recipes are really good for sensitive skin, it will just come down to your preference. If you want something that will not leave a residue on your skin overnight, you should go for the cucumber and milk recipe. On the other hand, if your skin is not as acne-prone, the Jojoba and Vitamin E oil recipe will really help moisturize the skin while you sleep.
