Garlic to get rid of pimples? It sounds weird, but I’m here to tell you that it works. If you’ve been wondering how to get rid of pimples overnight, we have the answer for you right here.
How to Get Rid of Pimples Overnight with Garlic
We’ve seen a lot of crazy trends on Instagram. In the name of beauty, makeup gurus try and test trends like using a spoon to contour, clown contouring, using an onion to grow out your brows and, the latest beauty trend, garlic to get rid of zits like magic.
Beauty vlogger, Farah Dhukai, posted a video to her account in which she tries the beauty trend for herself and, after watching it, all we can say is WHOA.
In the video, Farah slices a peeled garlic clove and makes small cuts in order to extract the juice. After doing this, she rubs the garlic onto her whitehead and BAM — it’s gone, never to return again.

Garlic doesn’t just get rid of whiteheads; it can also be used to flatten and reduce the redness of cysts, as well as dry out blackheads. LUSH has a great face mask called Cosmetic Warrior that’s geared towards acne-prone skin and contains anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial ingredients like garlic, honey, eggs, and tea tree oil. So if they’re using it, you know it’s good for you.
Studies reveal that garlic contains an active ingredient that has anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial properties. That’s why, similar to tea tree oil, this natural remedy is so effective at reducing the size and redness of your pimples.
However, it should be noted that if you have sensitive skin, this hack may not be for you as garlic has the potential to further irritate your skin. It’s best to try this hack with a patch test first.
While we have yet to see if the results are worth putting up with the smell, this hack could be a lifesaver for those with acne-prone and/or oily skin.
Stay tuned for the next beauty update and see you soon! (It’s time I put the garlic hack to the test.)
