What’s the first color that comes to mind when you hear Valentine’s Day? Pink, right? More often than not, an all-pink look can be a bit childish, which is exactly what we don’t want for a romantic date night about town. This is where Carli Bybel comes in with a rose gold look that’s feminine, sophisticated and downright flirty.
This look is all about dusty rose lips and glimmering rose gold eyes that captivate. One look at you and your date may not be able to take their hands off you.

We broke the look down step-by-step. Let’s get started!
Start by priming your entire eyelid. Carli uses Awake Eyeshadow Base by Sigma.
Take your Naked 3 palette and apply Trick over your eyeshadow base.
Then apply Dust over the gold shadow to give it a rose gold finish.
With a large blending brush, pick up the color Nooner and apply it into the crease of your eye.
Then, with a small blending brush, take Nooner again and apply it into the crease to darken the color.
Apply Strand, the lightest shade in your palette, underneath the brows.
To remove harsh lines, blend the crease into Strand to give it a softer, prettier look.
Carli uses a black gel liner, Wicked by Sigma, to create a winged line and then she lines the inner corner of her eye to define its shape. You may use your most trusted liner (mine is L’Oreal’s Lineur Intense) to do this.
- Step 6
If you’re using falsies, this is the time to apply them. Be sure to apply mascara before applying your false eyelashes.
If you don’t want your eye makeup to be glittery, you can skip this step, but what would Valentine’s Day be without a little glitter?
If you’re looking to amplify your look, take OCC (Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics) Pigment in Twirl and lightly apply to your lid for a brighter, more radiant look.
It’s time to move on to your face. We’ll get back to your eyes later. First, prime your face to smooth out any pores. Carli uses Smashbox primer.
After priming, apply your foundation and then it’s time to apply your concealer. Carli uses a concealer/highlighter duo by Pro Conceal. Apply the concealer underneath your eyes in a downward triangle that reaches the sides of your nose, on the bridge of your nose, under your chin, and between your eyebrows.
Now you’re going to contour. She uses Makeup Forever’s Camouflage Cream Palette #4 in Dark Complexions. Mix the lightest color with the darkest color to contour the nose and using a small foundation brush, apply it on your cheekbones, around your forehead, and along your jawline.
Grab a clean foundation brush and blend in your concealer along with the contour lines you created. After you’ve blended your makeup in, set it with matte powder. She uses Rimmel’s Stay Matte powder.
Next you’re going to move onto the Anastasia Contour Kit. Using the lightest shade (this will depend on your skin tone), apply it on your cheekbones, forehead, and everywhere you applied the cream contour. Then blend them together for a seamless finish.
Now it’s back to the eyes. You’re almost there! Taking the same light pink pigment you used earlier, apply it underneath your lower lash line.
Then you’re going to take the color Beige from OCC Cosmetics and apply it both over the light pink pigment on your lower lash line and onto your eyelids for added drama.
Now you’re going to apply mascara on your lower lashes and nude liner on the inner part of your eye.
Take your Naked 3 palette and, with a pencil brush, apply Nooner on the outer half of your lower lash line.
Apply blush over your cheeks; use your rosiest shade for this. My favorite is MAC’s Mineralize Blush in Dainty.
After you’ve applied your blush, dab some highlighter onto your fingers and apply it at the top of your cheekbones for a natural-looking glow.
For lips, Carli uses Boldly Bare by MAC to outline her lips and Nude No. 1 by Hourglass to fill them in.
Set your makeup with facial spray and you’re done!
