Ready to shed those dark plums for bright corals and pinks?
After exhausting our Winter makeup, we’re ready for a change. A brighter, bolder, more vibrant change that only Spring could bring us. When it comes to Spring makeup, it’s all about dewy skin, bright eyes, bold lips or, if you’re feeling demure, soft, glossy lips. While I love the drama Winter makeup brings, I am all for the minimal, less-is-more look that Spring inspires.
If you haven’t found your signature Spring look, we broke down the perfect makeup tutorial in easy to follow steps to get you ready for the bright sun and blooming flowers ahead!
The Perfect Spring Makeup Tutorial
Apply a dewy, light-coverage foundation or BB cream with either a foundation brush or Beauty Blender. Tanya uses a Zoeva 102 Silk Finish Brush for more natural-looking coverage.
Apply concealer wherever there is redness or blemishes you want to conceal — under the eyes, around the nostrils and on the chin.
Now move on to filling your eyebrows in because, as we all know, your face is nothing without those brows.
Apply deep golden (with copper undertones) eyeshadow on your eyelids and all the way up the crease. In this tutorial, Tanya uses her bronzer to do this so feel free to do the same!
After applying your base, apply a light highlighter on top of the base to add some radiance and light.
Also apply highlighter on the inner corner and bottom of the eyes for a brightening, widening effect.
Now it’s time to apply eyeliner! Using either liquid or gel, apply a medium-thick line across the lids.
Line the lower lash line with brown eyeliner.
To finish the eyes, apply your favorite black mascara. Tanya swears by Maybelline’s The Falsies Volumizing Mascara.
Now that you’ve finished your eye makeup, it’s time to apply bronzer. Apply the bronzer underneath your cheekbones for a light contouring effect.
After contouring your cheeks, apply highlighter at the top of your cheekbones and below your brows’ arch.
After you’ve applied your bronzer and highlighter, dust a soft pink blush on your cheeks.
Set your makeup with a finishing powder and you’re good to go! My favorite finishing powder is Tarte Amazonian Clay Pressed Finishing Powder.
Complete your gorgeous Spring look with a bright colored gloss. Tanya uses her very own Picnic In The Park lipgloss.
And that’s it!
Spring is the time to be bubbly and bright, so take advantage and experiment with this look by swapping out lipstick shades or adding a pop of color to your eye makeup.
