Spring is in the air and it’s time for you to unleash the rowdy wild child inside of you. How do you do just that? With this spring party makeup tutorial, of course.
Get Rowdy With This Spring Party Makeup Tutorial
This colorful spring party look was inspired by Holi, an Indian holiday that celebrates the arrival of spring. This vibrant look is guaranteed to turn heads at every party you attend this season.
Step 1. Remove Eye Puffiness
Use an eye mask or patch to reduce puffiness and re-hydrate the sensitive skin around your eyes. The patches Michelle Phan uses in this tutorial are Klorane Smoothing & Relaxing Patches.
Step 2. Primer
If you’ll be partying the whole night, use a pigmented primer with a slight shimmer in it, like Pixi Flawless Beauty Primer, to even out blotchy skin. With this primer, if your skin tone is even, you can skip foundation and opt for something lighter like BB Cream.
Step 3. Foundation
For those not gifted with naturally smooth skin, using a foundation is a must. Taking your favorite foundation, lightly dab it onto your skin and blend with a foundation brush, sponge or your fingers.
Step 4. Concealer
Use your ring finger to apply concealer underneath your eyes in a tapping motion. Also apply on any blemishes you want to conceal. The concealer used here is em The Great Cover Up Ultimate Concealer.
Step 5. Setting Powder
Set your concealer with a light dusting of setting powder.
Step 6. Define Your Brows
Fill your brows in with light, quick strokes. Keep them natural-looking.
Step 7. Primer On The Lids
Prime the upper and lower lash line before applying eyeshadow.
Step 8. Eyeshadow
Taking your Urban Decay Electric palette, apply the electric light-blue shadow to the lower lash line using an angled brush.
Take a complimentary color — in this tutorial, neon pink is used — and outline the lid by applying the color on the crease and blending outwards, ensuring that no color gets on the center of the lid. You’re looking to create an outline, ladies.
Step 9. Intensify the Eyeshadow
To intensify the eyes, use a bright eyeliner of your choice and line the entire waterline. The eyeliner used here is Urban Decay Glide-On Eye Pencil in Chaos.
Step 10. Perk Up Your Eyes
Curl the lashes and apply a generous coat of Urban Decay Big Fatty Mascara.
Step 11. Contour
With a contour stick — Chiaroscuro Contour & Highlighter Stick — contour the sides of the nose and jawline. You can either blend with your fingers or a contour brush.
Step 12. Bronzer
Apply bronzer on the hollow of your cheeks and pat it in to get those modelesque cheekbones.
Step 13. Lips
A nude lip color always go best with bright eye makeup. If you want your look to be even bolder, use a stronger, more vibrant shade.
