The Eldridge Technique Makeup Tutorial
How much foundation do you put on everyday? Apparently, you might be putting more on than you should. Many women believe that in order to cover blemishes, redness and uneven skin tone, they have to use full-coverage foundation (and a lot of it). However, this isn’t the case at all. With the Eldridge Technique, you’ll learn what the right amount of makeup is and how to use it to enhance your skin’s natural beauty.
Learn Lisa Eldridge’s technique on how to achieve naturally flawless skin with the right amount of makeup base and concealer. Here are the steps:

Step 1 – The Eldridge Technique Makeup Tutorial
Apply a light coverage makeup base.
If your face doesn’t need full coverage, you may opt for a tinted moisturizer or BB cream. There are also light coverage foundations that you can use. It really depends on your preference. But, the ultimate goal here is to let the makeup base even out your skin tone instead of masking it.
Step 2 – The Eldridge Technique Makeup Tutorial
Do the Eldrige Pinpoint Technique.
The Eldrige Technique is named after makeup guru, Lisa Eldrige, who believes that the face is better off with a light makeup base, followed by a pinpoint concealing technique. Instead of putting a blanket of foundation on your face, why not just conceal areas that need hiding?
Using small makeup brushes are recommended such as a thin eyeliner brush, a flat eyeshadow brush and a blending brush – all of which are brushes normally used for the eyes. For concealing small areas, use the thin liner brush. For bigger areas, the flat eyeshadow brush works well. For blending the concealer to the makeup base, the blending brush is what you’ll use.
If you’re concealing a small area, apply concealer on top of it using the brush and then, with a dabbing motion, use your finger to blend it out. After that, use the blending brush and dab in a circular motion to blend the concealer smoothly with the makeup base.
Step 3 – The Eldridge Technique Makeup Tutorial
Conceal Larger Areas.
After doing the pinpoint technique on the small areas you wish to hide, you can now move on to concealing larger areas. Use your flat brush to apply the concealer and diffuse it with your blending brush.
Step 4 – The Eldridge Technique Makeup Tutorial
Conceal your undereye circles.
For concealing any dark undereye circles, use a light coverage concealer. Put it underneath your eye and then use your index finger to blend the concealer evenly.
Step 5 – The Eldridge Technique Makeup Tutorial
Finish your look with a setting powder.
To complete the technique, set the areas you concealed with a setting powder. Using a small brush, dab some setting powder on the areas where you applied concealer.
Do note that it is best to use heavy coverage concealer when concealing parts of the face except the undereyes. You’ll need a full-coverage concealer that blends perfectly with your skin tone, so your face doesn’t look like it has random patches of concealer on (that’s never a good look). With proper blending, you’ll get a flawless finish that looks completely and totally natural.
