Use this sultry smokey eye makeup tutorial before a date night or as evening makeup for a special occasion.
This is the perfect sultry smokey eye makeup tutorial. There are plenty of soft, sultry, and sexy makeup looks to choose from for a hot date . . . but the smoky eye is still the sultriest of shadow looks, whether you’re an amateur or a pro. I like to call this particular look the “bedroom eye.” It is easy to execute (for the technically challenged), and makes you look sleek enough for that “just-walked-out-of-a-Victoria’s-Secret-shoot” look. The best parts about it: (1) hide your under-eye wrinkles with ease (2) make your eye color stand out – this looks great on both light and dark colored eyes (3) don’t worry about it creasing or melting off, this will last all night!

Smokey Eye | Step 1
After applying your eye shadow primer, apply a layer of black gel liner on the eyelid. This doesn’t need to be perfect by any means! Slap it on, because the blending comes next!
Smokey Eye | Step 2
Blend the eyeliner into your crease slightly, by using an eye shadow brush with stiff, compact bristles. The brush must be stiff because the liner dries quickly and isn’t as easily blended as shadow.
Smokey Eye | Step 3
Apply black eye shadow on top of the liner using a patting motion. Apply only as far as you have blended the eyeliner.
Smokey Eye | Step 4
Apply the reddish-brown shadow with a fluffy blending brush into your crease. It’s okay to drop some down onto the eyelid also to blend with the black eye shadow.
Smokey Eye | Step 5
Apply a small amount of gel liner to the lower lash line. Blend it out using the stiffbrush again. Then, using the fluffy brush and reddish-brown shadow, blend the liner out even more.
Smokey Eye | Step 6 – Final Step
Using a silver or gold highlighting eye shadow, apply an accent to the inner corner of the eye. Apply thick layers of mascara on top and bottom lashes. Voilà! You’re ready for a night on the town, or a hot date.
