12 Eyeshadow Makeup Tutorials For Blue Eyes
What I do is I look for the different colors in your iris because blue eyes aren’t all blue, there can be speckles of brown, orange, or green and I try to complement those other colors. When you do this, it gives you more options to choose from instead of being limited by the color blue.
1. Coral Eyeshadow | Colorful Eyeshadow Tutorials
Corals are the best eyeshadow colors for blue eyes. It complements blue, making the eyes really pop. If you have time to check the color wheel you will see that pinks and oranges are directly opposite blues and this is what we call complementary in terms of makeup. It helps the both color stand out instead of clash.
2. Blue Eyeshadow | Colorful Eyeshadow Tutorials
The idea of having blue on blue might not be appealing, but this tutorial might change your mind. The key is to adjust the hue of the blue you are applying so you can go darker and you can also add dimension by using duo chrome pigments. Framing your eyes with dark liner will also help make your blue eyes pop. Check out this video tutorial by Julia Graf:
3. Rose Gold | Colorful Eyeshadow Tutorials
What’s cuter than blue eyes and rose gold eyeshadow together? This combination will make for a glam look either in the day time or for a night out of town with friends. You can go bolder with a black eyeliner around your eyes or create a smokey halo for a soft frame to your blue eyes. Take a look at this gorgeous colorful eyeshadow tutorial by Cydnee:
4. Purple Eyeshadow | Colorful Eyeshadow Tutorials
Purple eyeshadows can be tricky to use because the color purple can show up on your undertones as discoloration around your eyes, if so it would be best to color correct because the purple color will bring out the purple tones on your skin. Once your skin discoloration is covered, you can go ahead and apply the color purple and watch how much it makes your blue eyes pop. You can even go gradient with it dropping a halo of pink as transition color above the crease and on the lower lash line to create dimension.

5. Yellow Eyeshadow | Colorful Eyeshadow Tutorials
Yellow eyeshadow works just as well as corals. It brings a fun and vibrant look to the eyes and if you feel like adding more colors, browns and peaches match a yellow shimmery color perfectly. This is such a good alternative to natural everyday makeup because it brightens your eyes and it gives it a fun pop of color.
Take a look at this video tutorial below to find out how easy it is to create a yellow eyeshadow look to match your blue eyes:
6. Orange Eyeshadow | Colorful Eyeshadow Tutorials
It is best to pair an orange-y, bronze color with blue eyes because they are complementary to each other. They create a subtle pop, but it does not overpower the beauty of the blue hues in your eyes. The tutorial shown above using a yellow shadow to highlight the inner corner of the eye brings the look together because it is a monochromatic match to the color family of oranges. Giving your blue eyes such beautiful frame.
7. Green Eyeshadow | Colorful Eyeshadow Tutorial
Green eyeshadow could be daunting to use with blue eyes but pick a green eyeshadow hue that complements your skin tone (warm or cool) and you should be able to rock it with your blue eyes. Most of the time the speckles on your eyes also reflect your skin tone, I’m not sure how that happens, but I’ve observed that colored irises most of the time contain browns or oranges which coincidentally matches the person’s skin tone. So when I have a hard time matching colors on the eye, I match them with their skin tone.

8. Red Eyeshadow | Colorful Eyeshadow Tutorials
Let’s admit it, no matter what color your eyes are it’s hard to nail a sexy & gorgeous eye makeup using red eyeshadow without looking like you have a pink eye. Good thing is, you can use glitters or metallic eyeshadow colors to complement red. And of course, add darker colors like black for a red smokey eye look. Don’t panic it’s all about complementing your skin tone when it comes to red, you don’t want it to look too bright that it might clash with bright blue eyes. So when you have bright blue eyes opt for a more mauve-red instead.
9. Natural Eyeshadow | Colorful Eyeshadow Tutorials
A natural eyeshadow look for blue eyes is really beautiful to pull off. You can pop in a hue of color that is present in your skin tone and play it up on the eye to create a natural halo effect around your peepers. A lengthening and volumizing mascara helps in creating a beautiful frame around your eyes without having to use eyeliner for a more natural look.

Silver eyeshadow will always look beautiful on blue eyes, it creates a frosty look that not all eye colors can pull off.
