Putting on makeup and some sparkly eyes on a night out with friends is always a good idea. Sadly going out with friends is not an option these days. But who’s to say we can’t put on sparkly eye makeup at home? It brings attention to your face and creates an intriguing makeup look.
There are many ways to apply sparkly makeup on, but my favorite one is the easiest and the shortest way to apply it.
I took the liberty to reference this quick 5-minute tutorial by An Knook so that you too can create a beautiful glitter eye look without so much fuzz.

Quick Sparkly Makeup for Those in a Hurry
Products You’ll Need for the Sparkly Eyes Makeup Tutorial:
- Eyeshadow Base – MAC Soft Ocher paint pot
- Eyeshadow Palette – Barry M Treasure Chest Eyeshadow Palette
- Glitter Eyeshadow – Stila Cosmetics Glow & Glitter liquid eyeshadow in Kitten Karma
- Eyeliner – Maybelline Gel Eyeliner
- Mascara – MAC Giga black lash mascara
- Falsies – Bocaj Beauty Lashes
Step 1: Base for Sparkly Eyes
To start, An Knook started with an eye base, in this tutorial she used the MAC Soft Ocher paint pot. Pick up a small amount using a small flat or even a small buffing brush to blend the product evenly across the eyelid. This ensures that your eye makeup will stay longer and avoid creasing on the folds.
Applying a base on the eye also helps with avoiding the patchiness that comes with some eyeshadow formula.
Step 2: Put on Transition Shade
The next step is to create a transition shade, she used a neutral shade from the Barry M Treasure Chest Eyeshadow Palette. You can use a different shade from a different palette but be sure to stay with the neutral colors because this helps tie in the look together.
My favorite neutral shades are from the Viseart neutral matte palette. I use it all the time and it is one of the best formulas I’ve ever tried on.
Step 3: Glitter, Glitter, Glitter…
The key to this quick sparkly eyeshadow tutorial is the glitter eyeshadow formula that you are using. A lot of times in the past we use a glitter glue and a separate glitter pot to create this look. Of course, we all know how messy glitter pots can get. That is why we love products such as Stila Cosmetics Glow & Glitter liquid eyeshadow because they make our lives so much easier.
In this tutorial, An used the shade Kitten Karma all over the lid. Applying the built-in applicator directly on the lid and swiping it all over on the center. Make sure to blend the glitters just right on the edges with a small and clean blending brush.

Step 4: Gel Liner Is a Must
To bring in the look together, use a black liner and apply it to the roots of the lashes. This will create a cleaner appearance to the eye look. Applying black eyeliner is also going to help create a fuller lash for when you apply your false lashes towards the end.
I find it better to use a gel liner just like what An used for this tutorial because it creates a cleaner line when you use an angled liner brush. The color payoff is also so much better compared to many pencil eyeliner since the color is normally more saturated on gel formulas.
Step 5: Lash Love
Don’t forget to finish your look with a set of full lashes to create that glam effect. Many times you will want to pair sparkly eye makeup with false lashes. Full lashes compliment the glittery effect better compared to just applying mascara.
In this tutorial, An did not show how she finished the entire makeup look with brows and a full face. But for the purpose of this sparkly makeup tutorial, I will say that you may process as to how you normally would with other makeup looks.
