Greenery is the Pantone color of the year to focus on! Today, we’ll show you a Greenery makeup tutorial that’s versatile for everyday wear.
A Makeup Tutorial Featuring The Pantone Color Of The Year
Like most people, I think Greenery, 2017’s Pantone color of the year, is such a breath of fresh air! Others tend to shy away from it. They’d say things like how the color green is intimidating and challenging to wear. But you see, ladies, the trick is picking the right shade, one that’s light enough yet still leaves a subtle hint of color. Below’s a photo of the makeup look I’m talking about. If you like it and you’d like to try it yourself, keep scrolling to read the tutorial!
What You’ll Need:
- Pressed powder (I love this)
- Concealer (I recommend this)
- Light pink eyeshadow (I love this)
- Green and brown eyeshadow (Try this)
- Mascara (Love this)
- Brow Powder (I recommend this)
- Blush and Highlighter (Try this)
- Clear Lip Gloss (Pick this)
Step 1: Apply Base
You can use either foundation or pressed powder as a base, as long as you make sure you’ve got the right shade for your skin. Pat the product in with a brush and then blend it outward all over the face.
Step 2: Put on Concealer
Since this tutorial features the Pantone color of the year on the eyes, it’s best to dab on a bit of concealer on the eyelids to make sure that the area doesn’t have any gray colors. Don’t forget to blend our concealer seamlessly to get rid of any harsh patches.
Step 3: Pat on a Light Pink Shade
The light pink shade will serve as the base for your eyeshadow. By the way, I fully recommend using a primer to make the eyeshadows stay put.
Step 4: Get the Pantone Color of the Year Eyeshadow
Pat the green eyeshadow on your lids from the lash line going upward the crease. Since the color is a nice light green, you can opt to make the color more visible by adding more layers as desired. The great thing with this tutorial is how you don’t even have to blend all sorts of different shades of green — one is enough!
Step 5: Line the Lash Line
Choose a dark brown shade to line your lash line. I’d also recommend using an eyeliner brush to make the application easier and to have a sleeker finish. Line both the upper and lower lash lines and don’t forget to gently smudge the bottom lash line with your finger to give it a softer look.
Step 6: Apply Mascara
When applying mascara, squiggle the wand from side to side so that more product is transferred to the lashes. By the way, did I mention that the squiggle motion also helps decrease the chances of clumping?
Step 7: Fill in Brows
Make sure to get into all the nooks and crannies of your brows, including the little spaces underneath the brow hair. You could even finish off your brows by adding a bit of brow gel to hold the hairs in place.
Step 8: Put on Blush
Dust on a coral-hued blush on the apples of your cheeks. The idea is to create a natural flush, something that every woman looks stunning in.
Step 9: Add Highlighter
To help keep your makeup looking natural, it’s best to add a bit of glow. Brush on some highlighter on your cheeks, nose, chin, and forehead. If you want more beauty tips to keep your skin looking radiant and glowing, click this.
Step 10: Keep Lips Simple
Swipe on a bare lip gloss to keep the focus on your eyes. You could also switch this to a mildly tinted lip balm if you’d like.
