12 Makeup Touch Up Tricks To Keep You Looking Fresh All Day Long

December 30, 2019 By aileen

Many women will not ever leave their homes unless their make up is in proper place. All of them wish to always look picture perfect all the time. Sadly, make up products are not fool proof. After a few hours of application, it may get smudged or tainted. That is why most women make it a point to check their mirror from time to time.

Applying makeup is an easy thing to do but it is quite high maintenance. It will require some touch ups along the way. If you act like this is not a big deal, then you will just end up with pale lips, smudged eyeliners at the end of the day.

If you wish to avoid make up mess, then you must know some tips on how to properly touch up your perfectly applied make up many times in a day. Here are some tips on how to do so:

1. Eye make up

If you have applied eyeliner in the inner and outer corner of your eye, then you may feel like a superstar upon stepping out your home. However, your perfectly winged eyeliner will only last about five hours so that means you will end up with a gooey mess at about 2 pm. To prevent that, it is recommended that you check your eye make up in the mirror from time to time. Once you have seen any excess liner building up in the corner of your eyes, then use a rolled tissue to remove it.

2. Eyelid Make up

|

When it’s hot day out, there is a big chance that you will sweat and once your sweat glands start to tear up, your eye shadow will become creasy and cakey. This mess can be easily remedied if you have your eye shadow compact with you. If you do not have one with you, then you can just easily and wipe the shadows in your lid lines with the use of your finger. You can also try preventing shadow smudges by applying some lid primer after putting on eye shadow.

3. Lipstick

|

While red lips make you look glamorous, it also has a tendency to make you look like a bloody mess after a long day of talking, eating, drinking and smiling. Again, check your lipstick from time to time. Wipe off the smudged lipstick then apply on a fresh coat. In order to avoid your lipstick from going out of direction during application, then apply a clear lip liner first before applying on lipstick. To make sure your lips is as pouty as ever, check out your teeth for smears and wipe off if you have spotted any.

4. Face Makeup

|

While you think that concealers, foundation and powder will stay in place throughout the day, you will be disappointed to know that these have the tendency to migrate too. Lucky for you, this is quite easy to touch up. There is no need for you to remove the applied make up. Instead, just tap on the problem areas like fine lines, smile lines, under eye, nose area as well as forehead. This is done in order to re blend the makeup. To remove oil and grease off your face, you can easily apply translucent powder. If you have none, then you can just easily blot the oil with the use of tissue.

5. Use Q tip with a bit of moisturizer in removing eye make up.

|

If your eye make up is already messed up, this is the best way to remove eye make up prior to reapplication. With this step, you are able to completely remove eye make up without removing the layers of make up underneath it.

6. For under area that is getting a bit darker, apply some concealer.

|

No matter how many layers of make up products you have applied, your under eye area has high chances of going darker throughout the day. If you need a quick fix, the best thing that you can do is to apply a bit of concealer over it.

7. Fix cakey foundation with the help of a lightweight facial lotion.

Place a small amount of lightweight facial lotion at the back of your palms. Use your ring finger to get and apply moisturizer and slowly dab the lotion into the cakey areas of your face. Continue doing so until you have fully blended the uneven patches in your skin.

8. Use make up eraser sticks.

These items are essential for a make up lover. Any woman must have this on their bag all the time! When you encounter some make up runs or smudges, all you have to do is to use this to erase the smudge and run then re apply. These are like cotton swabs but with make up remover.

9. Instantly freshen up your face with a highlighter.

|

If you are pressed for time and you wish to instantly freshen up your look, your best friend will surely be your highlighter. All that you have to do is to swipe some highlighter on your cheekbones and around the eyes. After some swipes, you will surely look much more alive and awake.

10. Avoid applying a new coat of mascara.

If the answer to patches and lip stains is re application, this is not the same with clumpy mascara. Instead of applying a new coat of mascara, the best thing that you can do is to push the mascara brush against the base of your eyelashes. This will help you to lift and bump your lashes and revive its look.

11. Shape your lips.

|

You can actually shape your lips even without the use of a lipstick. In fact, you can add some curves to your puckers with the use of concealers. The best thing that you can do is to apply concealer to the outer corners of your mouth in order to make it look bigger.

12. Put on a layer of pressed powder.

Once you are done with your touch ups, your last step should be to apply some setting powder to make sure that your touch ups will last as much as possible.
