Let’s face it, Urban Decay eyeshadow palettes can be pretty hard on the pocket. So here are some amazing budget-friendly dupes you should try instead.
Hello! I have a big surprise for you: we are going to talk about Urban Decay eyeshadow dupes today! I just came from a meeting with a potential client for a wedding. It turns out I’ll be traveling out of state within the next few weeks, so I’m trying to catch up with my blog posts. I don’t want to leave you with no posts to read. 🙂 And one of the requested topics from my readers is dupes. I understand why you want to know about dupes. Makeup can be expensive. Take, for example, Urban Decay. I use Urban Decay eyeshadow once in a while, especially if the client requests it, although I am a Mac baby. UD (let’s call it that way) can cost you more than $50 for a palette! If you’re looking for alternatives, then you’re in luck.
Budget-Friendly Urban Decay Eyeshadow Dupes You Should Try
Gorgeous Urban Decay Eyeshadow Palette Alternatives That Don’t Break The Bank
There’s a good reason why UD eyeshadow is pricey. Not only is it a great brand – I have to say colors are on point, pigmentation is awesome, and shades are very varied – it is also cruelty-free and doesn’t contain carcinogenic ingredients. However, sometimes you want to go cheap with your choices, and hey, options are the best you’ll ever have when it comes to makeup. I have here good dupes to check out:
1. Maybelline New York Nudes Versus UD Naked 2
When you want your eyes to shimmer, you can go for Urban Decay Naked 2 or Maybelline’s The Nudes. They share similar darker tones for a deep discount if you get smart with your choice, yet they look just as great. Look at these swatches.

UD Naked 2 sells at $54. How about Maybelline’s? It’s in Walmart for less than $9!
Savings? About $45.
“I don’t like Maybelline! Is there something else?” Well, I’ve got a suggestion for you: Lorac Pro Palette, which shares many bright shades with UD. Plus, you’ll have four more additional shades to choose from. This is more expensive than Maybelline, but at $44 in Lorac Cosmetics website, it’s still comparatively cheaper than UD.
2. Chi Chi Glamorous Nudes Versus UD Naked 2
When you want a dupe that’s as close as your favorite Urban decay eyeshadow for less than $25, then you have to get Chi Chi Glamorous eyeshadow. As you can see in the image above, they are similar in A LOT of shades, particularly Suspect, which has a tinge of beige. They even have the same design for the eye brush, although I have to say UD always knows how to make their palette pan and brushes look really beautiful and elegant.
Savings? About $31. Chi Chi Glamorous is available on its website for only $21.95.
3. Elf Need It Nude Versus UD Naked 1
Elf is a brand that keeps on impressing me. In fact, its Sunset Prism palette made it to my great eyeshadow list (woot! woot!). This one, though, is its incredible nude palettes that have a number of similarities in terms of taupe and dark shades with UD. However, you’ll find lighter shades in UD than in Elf. To offset that, Elf gives you a big mirror. And the darker tones of Elf are actually fantastic.
Savings? $44!
4. W7 In The Buff In Lightly Toasted Versus UD Naked 1
Have you noticed something between these two eyeshadow palettes? Well, in case they are not clear to you, they almost look like a replica of each other! Just check out the arrangement of the colors and their tones and shades. Look at the swatches below:
So uncanny, right? There are, of course, differences, including the design of the pan since W7 has a tin one and the presence of a mirror in UD. But other than these, it’s easy to pass W7 as a UD.
Savings? $44.
5. Hard Candy Eyes The Limit Eyeshadow Primer Versus UD Primer Potion Tube
Obviously, these aren’t exactly eyeshadows, but they are primers. And I want to show you Urban Decay eyeshadow dupes can also apply to these types of products. Before we get into the comparison, let me tell you something about primers. They are important if you want your eyeshadow to hold for a long time. Best of all, this is necessary if you don’t like the color to fall off your eyes. It can be embarrassing, you know.
We have here Hard Candy’s Eyes the Limit ( I love the name!) and the Primer Potion Tube of UD. There’s not much difference between the two except the quantity inside the packaging. There are more choices with UD than with Hard Candy. However, with the latter, you can take a pick among Smoky, Nude, and Shimmer.
Savings? $7. Not much, I know, but savings is savings. 🙂
6. NUDES Eyeshadow Nude Palette Versus Urban Decay 1
Last but certainly not the least, I have here a practical but beautiful nude eyeshadow palette you can now buy at Shopwidgetapp for a cool price of $37.99. It’s definitely not the cheapest among the dupe bunch, but it has a lot of similarities with UD including a lot of choices for smoky shades, easy blendability, different textures, and it’s also cruelty-free!
Savings? $16.
Before I end this post, here’s another one. It’s called Makeupworks, which is sold for less than $14! For a comparison, watch this YouTube video by Samantha Schuerman:Â
Didn’t I just tell you these Urban Decay eyeshadow dupes are amazing? But the question is, should you buy them instead of UD? It all depends on you. I still prefer UD because of the texture, pigmentation, hold, and science behind it. All these make the product worth of its hefty price. However, if you are simply looking for a trustworthy makeup that is easy in the pocket, go ahead and try these alternatives.
Which of these Urban Decay eyeshadow dupes are you willing to try? I’ll probably go for W7Â Lightly Toasted, but that’s just me. I want to hear from you, so leave your comments below. You can also get more dupe ideas here!
