beauty benefits of honey

February 15, 2020 By Azalea Pena Leave a Comment

Unwanted hair growth is a common nuisance for women. In areas like the legs, arms, underarm and back, you want to avoid growing unsightly hair. However, hair growth is something you have no control of. So, what do you do? Instead of removing hair every day or every other day, why don’t you give these 5 natural hair removers a try?

While there is no permanent natural hair removal method, you can enjoy longer hair regrowth with these methods. Are you ready to try them out?

5 Natural Hair Removers for Longer Hair Regrowth

1. Sugar, Honey, and Lemon

Sugar, honey, and lemon are common items that you most likely have lying around the kitchen. Pick them up and use them to remove unwanted hair from your legs and arms. This method will be similar to waxing and there will be a little bit of pain. But, since this method pulls the hair out of its roots, you will enjoy being hair-free longer.

You will need 1 tbsp sugar, 1 tbsp lemon juice, 1 tbsp organic honey, 1-2 tsp of cornstarch or all-purpose flour, water, cloth strip, and a spatula. Mix all of these together until you create sticky wax. Adjust water accordingly to achieve thickness desired.

For removing facial hair, you can just use 2 tbsp of sugar, 2 tsp of fresh lemon juice and 10 tbsp of water.

2.  Sugar Molasses

If you don’t have honey around, this is another sugar wax recipe you can try. You will need molasses or corn syrup to make your depilatory wax for your hands and legs.

You need 1 cup sugar, molasses or corn syrup, juice of half lemon, cloth strip and a microwavable vessel. Put the sugar into the vessel and drizzle molasses on top of it. Heat the vessel in the microwave oven for two to three minutes. When the sugar is completely dissolved, add the lemon juice into the mix. Blend the mixture well and let it cool until mixture is warm enough to use. Simply use the mixture as any hair removal wax.

3. Alum Rosewater Treatment

Mixing alum and rosewater proves to be another helpful home remedy for unwanted hair growth. Women in India and Pakistan use this method to remove hair as well as reduce the thickness of the new hair growth.

You will need 1/2 tsp of alum powder (if you have a rock, grind it), 2-3 tbsp of rosewater, olive, or sesame oil, and cotton balls. Mix the alum powder and rosewater together until the powder is completely dissolved. Dip the cotton ball in the mixture and apply on problematic area. Let the mixture dry before re-applying. Once done, wash the application off and apply a few drops of oil on the skin to moisturize it.

4. Turmeric Powder

Turmeric is known for its antibacterial and antiseptic properties, but it is also an effective ingredient in removing unwanted facial hair. Whether you have thin or thick hair, there’s a method for you.

For thin hair, mix 1-2 tsp of turmeric powder with milk, rosewater, or water until you make a smooth paste. Apply the paste on the face and leave for 15 to 20 minutes and rinse it off with warm water.

For thick hair, use the same recipe except you add either gram flour, rice flour or ground oats into the mixture.

5. Spearmint tea

Who’d ever thought this refreshing tea can also get rid of unwanted hair on your body? While you don’t apply it, drinking it helps lower androgen hormones responsible for excessive hair growth.

What you should do to tame your hair growth is to get 5 to 6 spearmint leaves and boil them (make sure to cover the pot). After boiling, drink the tea. You can take spearmint tea once or twice a day to see a reduction in hair growth in a matter of days.

Say goodbye to unwanted hair (at least for a while) with these home remedies. They’re easy to do and will make the effort worthwhile.
