Don’t throw that old mascara tube away just yet! With this simple makeup hack, you can revive dry mascara so it’s good as new. Check out the steps below to see how it’s done!

Is your mascara feeling a little dry and flaky? Don’t head to the makeup aisle just yet. You can totally revive a tube of dry mascara so it’s good as new! I’m really excited to share this makeup hack with you guys – it’s a total game-changer. I used to go to the makeup store every time my mascara started to feel dry, but now I don’t have to! This makeup hack extends the life of your mascara so you can use it down to the last drop.

How to Revive Dry Mascara To Make It Last Longer

Is there anything worse than realizing your mascara has dried out? Luckily, I’ve found the perfect way to make dry mascara good as new! Did you know that the secret to bringing old mascara back to life is hot water and contact lens solution? It’s true! Submerging a tube of mascara into hot water and adding contact lens solution is a quick and easy way to revive your favorite mascara.

For this simple makeup hack, all you’ll need is an old tube of mascara, a cup of hot water, and a few drops of contact lens solution. That’s it! Easy, right? Best of all, this trick only takes a few minutes, so you’ll be able to use that mascara again in no time.

Are you ready to revive that tube of dry mascara? Check out the steps below and give this simple makeup hack a try!

What you’ll need to revive dry mascara:

  • Tube of dry mascara
  • Cup of hot water
  • 4-5 drops of contact lens solution

Step 1: Submerge your mascara tube in a cup of hot water for 5 minutes.

Step 2: Add 4-5 drops of contact lens solution to the mascara.
Revive Dry Mascara Step Two

Step 3: Shake the mascara tube for 15-20 seconds.
Revive Dry Mascara Step Three

Ta-da! Your dry mascara is now good as new!

    While this hack sounds good; it is NOT.
    Mascara should :
    1 – Not be “revived” if it drys out – this can cause bacteria in the mascara to increase
    (Bacteria LOVE mascara; excellent medium for growth); causing mild to severe eye infections; including MRSA.
    2 – Mascara SHOULD NOT be kept for more than 3 months – again, Bacteria growth.
    3 – NEVER, EVER be shared.
    4 – If you get an eye infection THROW OUT YOUR MASCARA! What ever caused the eye infection (ie – pink eye) will be on the mascara brush; and, in your mascara.
