1. Slough off the dead skin.

Contrary to popular belief, giving your legs a good scrub when they feel fragile and dry is necessary to slough away dead skin. Slough off with Ole Henriksen Rub N’ Buff Salt Scrub. This product will leave your skin feeling ultra-smooth and soft, and it provides an excellent canvas for that perfect, blotch-free tan. Use 2 hours before tanning.
2. Apply Wash Off Tan.
Applying Wash Off Tan can be incredibly intimidating especially if you’ve never tried it before. If you’re not totally confident about applying Wash Off Tan, try mixing it with your moisturizer. It’ll make it easier to apply and it gives that radiant, illuminated look. “Otherwise, apply it to a proper tanning mitt” — this is essential — “and use long, sweeping strokes to ensure the color is blended evenly. Allow to dry for a few minutes to assess the color payoff, and then apply a second coat if desired.” Save the feet for last — you’ll want the bulk of the color to appear on your legs.
3. Slather on some body gel.
Before you start layering products, it’s wise to follow up the Wash Off Tan with body gel. This will seal up the tint while providing a dewy, cooling base.Use it even if you haven’t self-tanned, and you’ll love the results.
Try Korres Cooling Gel After Sun, Greek Yogurt.
4. Contour!
Yes, there is such thing as contouring your legs. As most products designed to enhance arms and legs are made with shimmer, avoid smearing the stuff all over. “You will make the leg look wider if the shimmer is everywhere,” says Swift. “You only want glitter where the light hits you.”

5. Give it a hint of shimmer.

Shimmer only looks convincing when you apply it strategically. Again, don’t slather it all over your legs. Tilbury’s prefessional advice: “Put a little down the legs, just in the middle. You want a straight line down, brushing it up along the bone and the back of the calf. Skip your knee…and put just a touch through the thigh…maybe in a section just barely an inch wide.”
Try Charlotte Tilbury Supermodel Body. It’s got that gold-tinted formula that makes skin look radiant.
6. Wax your legs.

Seriously, you cannot skip this if you want to achieve that flawless look. For those with low pain threshold, take over-the-counter pain medication a half hour pre-wax to dull the pain.
7. Tone your legs.
If there’s one thing that doesn’t flatter your legs, it’s definitely flabby legs. Use firming lotions as an instant fix to make skin look younger and smoother. Firming lotions have ingredients that firms up the skin temporarily and it helps to smooth bumpy areas and reduce puffiness.
8. Deep, deep, deep hydration for dry, flaky skin.
We’re talking about severely dehydrated, flaky skin here. We all know dry skin can mean mature-looking skin. Dry skin is very common in your lower legs and it just looks terrible.
Hydrate skin with This Works’ Skin Deep Dry Leg Oil. It is a deeply enriching blend of 9 essential oils with Evening Primrose designed to tackle dry, rough undernourished skin on legs.

Normal foundation just won’t do it for stretchmarks, very red or purple or thready veins, varicose veins, tattoos, vitiligo, conspicuous scars or awful insect bites. Apply camouflage makeup products instead. Here are tutorials on how to cover up some of the specific conditions I’ve mentioned with camouflage makeup.
