Wearable 4th of July Makeup Looks

June 18, 2020 By Karen Lang

The coming of July 4 always brings in inspiration to so many artists here in America. In particular, 4th of July makeup looks are a hot trend right around this time and you’re probably wondering what makeup look to wear to celebrate Independence Day.

Nationalistic pride and makeup artistry have always gone hand in hand throughout history. This year, even in the middle of all the noise, one thing brings us all together. The land of the free and home of the brave.

Let us celebrate the best about Independence Day with these makeup looks you can cop on your own.

Best 4th of July Makeup Inspiration

1. Navy Drop Shadow

|

The first 4th of July makeup look is by Kathleen Lights, using bright red lipstick and keeping the eye festive with a navy blue eyeshadow lining the lower lid paired with a bold wing liner and a swipe of white eyeshadow on the eyelid.

2. Vampy and Bold 4th of July Makeup

|

This is one of my favorite 4th of July makeup looks because it’s different and sexy. Using a midnight blue shade shadow swept across the lids brought to a V on the outer corner, and deep red lips contoured with black eyeshadow is refreshingly dark.

3. Double Liner

|

Create a double-wing liner using black and white eyeliner and create a shadow on your lower lid with blue eyeshadow. Paired with a red lipstick this look is a youthful take on Independence Day makeup.

4. Glitter and Blue Liner

|

Nikkietutorials also serves up one of the prettiest 4th of July makeup looks for us by using glitter under the eye and a navy blue eyeliner to keep the look interesting.

5. Go Pin-Up 4th of July Makeup

|

Although this is more of an era look, this pin-up makeup look by Shaaanxo is simple and chic to wear outside on any given day. While it wasn’t really created as a 4th of July makeup look, it still very much looks the part.

Using glossy red lip color and creating an ombre eyeliner that starts from silver at the inner corner, going blue, to black on the wingtip. Very chic and very apt for Independence Day.

6. Notes from Harley Quinn

|

I’ve always thought Harley Quinn’s makeup has a patriotic nod to it and turning it into a fourth of July makeup inspiration is not a bad idea at all. Create a vibe of rebel chic by using blue eyeshadow on one eye, and red on the other.

7. Star-Spangled

Keep it warm and low-key with a deeper blue eyeshadow and red berry lips. Don’t forget the stars, in glitter, of course. It creates a beautiful light-reflecting effect to the entire look.

8. Glitter Trails 4th of July Makeup

Let the glitters speak for themselves. A clean and simple makeup look is always easier to do, but using glitters to bring the message across is pretty neat. Make sure to only use star-shaped glitters in red, blue, and white.

9. Cut Crease

Glam up with the colors of the American flag by using a white eyeliner to deepen the cut crease on your fourth of July makeup look. Let’s put special attention to Maja’s use of red eyeliner to create a dramatic eye look without sacrificing the theme.

10. Red Mascara

An otherwise simple makeup look by using blue eyeshadow as details on the eye look but creating dramatic peepers by using red pigment on the lashes. The subtle hint of red on the eyes pairs beautifully with the bright red lipstick used on this look by Meg Benitez.

11. Freckle Star 4th of July Makeup

|

Wear the star-spangled banner all across your face by creating white freckles. Keep in theme with the fourth of July makeup look by incorporating red and blue on your eye makeup.

12. Bright Blue and Red

Create a statement by wearing a blue lipstick paired with blue, red, and white eye makeup look. The higher the saturation, the better.

13. Flag Details

|

Create exquisitely clean details on your eyes using the colors and the symbols of the American flag to celebrate Independence Day.

Minnie Mcgee has beautifully played her fourth of July makeup look with a detailed eyeshadow work using blue and red eyeshadows, white eyeliner, and star glitter stick on. Something you can do too.
