What Blush Color Should Medium Skin-Toned Women Use?

November 18, 2024 By Karen Lang

Picking the perfect blush color starts with knowing the kind of skin tone you have. Do you have fair, medium, or dark skin? Don’t be overwhelmed with all the different shades and swatches, let me take your hand and guide you to picking your best blush color yet!

4 Blush Colors That Complement Medium Skin Tone Women Perfectly

Applying blush color is my favorite! I remember the first time I had makeup done was when I was a little girl. It was for a relative’s wedding and my mom whisked me off to have a makeup artist work her magic. She opened a big box of what struck me as a magical chest of colors. It had eyeshadow palettes, row upon row of eyelashes, and a whole section devoted to MAC lipsticks. I also remember her making me smile so that she could see the apples of my cheeks, which she then dusted on with blush color. That’s when I knew what one of my favorite parts of makeup was.

If you’re a lady blessed with a medium skin tone, this article was made just for you! Let’s get started!

1. Apricot

The apricot blush color on the cheeks is perfect for ladies who have warm undertones and wants an uber natural flush. Consider this as your “no makeup” makeup blush color as it gives off a very subtle tint of color. The great thing about using this blush is it allows you to go bolder with the other parts of your makeup like your eyes or your lips.

2. Peach

Peach blush colors are all the rage on the last few months of 2016 and it’s still on the beauty mist-haves right now, and foa=r a good reason! A peach blush color is one sure way to give you that enviable sun-kissed flush. Want to take it a notch higher? Apply contour and a shimmery blush topper so you’ll look like you just arrived fresh from a beach vacay!

3. Soft Berry

A soft berry blush color is one of the ways medium skin toned ladies can brighten up their cheeks. It’s one of the pink shades that look mega flattering on the skin because it’s a deeper shade as opposed to pale pink. I opt for soft berry blush colors on clients with eye makeup looks that are on the cool tone side and if the client wants to try something new. If you’re scared of this shade, apply lightly on the cheeks and build up the color accordingly so you don;t go overboard.

4. Mauve

A mauve blush color is perfect for ladies who want to rock an edgy look. The mauve blush color is richer and gives depth to a medium skin-toned stunner such as yourself. I say, do like Selena and finish off the look with a striking lip color! The perfect mauve blush colors for me are: Milani Baked Blush in “Red Vino”, Benefit Rockateur Blush, Makeup Forever Blush in “220”, and MAC Blushes in “Breathe of Plum” and “Mocha” Can you say va-va-voom?

Which blush color are you most into? Personally, I think that having a shade of each of the four blush colors above is a good investment. I mean, there are so many makeup looks to try and experiment on! A bit of a warning, once you start, it can be hard to stop. Trust me, I’m a true makeup addict and my credit card is a testament to that.

Oh well, it’s never a crime to look good, right ladies? Have fun with your chosen blush color!

Now that you’ve got your blush on point, finish off your look with this beautiful fringe scarf from Mason and Ivy! It’s totally to die for!
