Braids are totally in for summer and we have collated some of the coolest styles for you to try. From Large bulky braids, to short skinny plaits, fishtails and even ponytails we have something for everyone on this list. And if you’re not convinced that braids are for you, just know that your favorite celebs are rocking this cool trend as well.  Read on for more!

Summer Braids

1. Boho Faux Locs-Little Mix

|

The Little Mix singer went for the jumbo boho locs in a variation on light brown shades, with lots of cool hair accessories.

2.Jumbo Plaits-Janelle Monae

|

Always the coolest kid on the block, Janelle went for some extra large cornrows, with one forming a bang in the front.

3. Long Box Braids-Jhene Aiko

|

The soulful singer always has a boho vibe and these small, butt length braids complements her laid back style perfectly.

4. Short Blunt Braids-Jordan Dumm

|

Lets be honest, the stunning supermodel can pretty much pull of any hairstyle in the world. She went with some short blunt plaits with lots of gold trinkets to add some sparkle to the look.

5.Butt Length Ponytail Braid- Beyonce

|

If Queen B is rocking it, then the whole world will be rocking it, and it does require some guts to pull off this Butt length style. However, if you have the confidence to carry off this sleek high bun with this super long ponytail braid then go ahead and rock it this summer!

6. FKA Twigs-Flat Twit/Braid Combo

|

The actress couldn’t quite decide on one style so she went with a variation. She went with small, flat twist cornrows in the front with extra baby hairs, and for the back medium sized box plaits.

7. Twists – Brandy

|

Always well known for not just her voice but also her iconic braids, Brandy opted for long, medium sized spring twist  pulled up into a bun.

8.Messy Pigtail Cornrows-Rita Ora

|

Always willing to try new things, so weer not surprised that she spiced up her messy pigtail cornrows with small pearls to match her daring outfit.

9.Micro Braids- Zoe Kravitz

|

This one requires a bit of patience because it takes hours to complete these super long micro braids. However if you really want a protective style that will last several weeks this is a great choice.

10. Triple plait ponytail-Yara Shahidi

Zara went with a high ponytail and instead one super long plait she went with three.

11. Side Cornrows- Chanel Iman

|

This side part cornrow is very simple and the supermodel wears it well.

12. Box Braids- Kerry Hilson

|

The stunning singer went with the traditional style which is a great protective option for the summer.

13. Classic Updo- Star Jackson

The petite Disney star tends to go for very mature styles like this classic updo she created with her box braids.

14. Goddess Locs -Megan Good

|

Megan Good has been rocking these locs in different variations for a while now, and she has to attributed for popularizing the goddess locs trend. This time she shaved one side of her head and went with an ombre color.

15. Fishtail Braid- Halle Berry

|

Probably my favorite one on the list, due in part to the fact this it Halle Berry. I love that the actress switches up her style constantly and this high fishtail ponytail was a showstopper for sure.
