It’s Mother’s day soon and we thought it would be a fitting tribute to all our mothers to share some fast and easy mommy makeup tips and tricks.

We all know how a lot of women enjoy makeup and colors, of course, moms enjoy them too. However, the life of a mother can get really busy with work, managing the home, caring for the kids, keeping up with the bills, etc.

Motherhood can be really hectic and tiresome so we listed down some tips and tricks to keep you glowing and made up even for busy mothers.

These Are the Only Makeup Tips Busy Moms Need!

1. Ice Pack in the Morning

This trick helps in de-puffing your face from either too much sleep or not enough sleep. It also helps tighten the pores as sebum secretion is more active at night.

What’s great is it won’t cost you a thing! There are tons of face rollers in the market, jade roller, gold face rollers, and whatnot. These are great tools but in times like these, why buy if you can get the same effects without having to spend a dime.

Here’s how to do this:

  1. Right after waking up, wash your face and your hands with soap.
  2. Get an ice cube from the freezer and apply it to your face.

The effect is an instant brightening of the skin for a quick errand in the morning. Definitely a pick me up for your skin better than coffee.

2. Concealer for Base as Most Basic yet Effective Mommy Makeup Tip

Investing in a good concealer is key to this trick. If you have a good kind that is suitable for your skin type then this trick will save you a lot of time. This is also one of the best quick makeup tips for moms out there and it involves putting dots on specific areas of your face with your concealer.

This helps in creating a more polished base even without foundation. Which parts of the face you might ask, let me list it down for you.

  • Undereye area
  • Bridge of the nose
  • Corner of the nostrils
  • Cupid’s bow area
  • Chin
  • Spot conceal any dark spots or redness

Remember to put the minimal amount, just enough to cover and even out the skin tone. You don’t even have to use a brush for this but let the concealer sit on the skin for a few seconds and dab with your ring finger to blend.

Immediately, your face will brighten up and your skin tone more even, just like it had light foundation on.

We highly recommend the Nars Radiant Creamy concealer. It is the perfect creamy texture perfect for a quick mommy makeup. Another great product that’s affordable is the Maybelline Age Rewind Concealer.

3. Surprise Mommy Makeup Tip: Tightline Your Eyes

|

We know not everyone is keen on this, but trust us, this trick is your pass for the hot, natural moms club. It takes a little practice if you aren’t used to it but tightlining your eyes will give you a youth boost let’s say 5 years younger.

As we age — and depending on your stress levels, your eyelids shed those eyelashes too. Drawing in a tight line on the roots of your lashes will create a fuller lash effect and will immediately open up your eyes. This mommy makeup technique will trick everyone into thinking you are younger than your actual age.

Before you go off looking for a pencil eyeliner to tight line, we recommend creamy, smudge-proof eyeliner products like the Urban Decay 24/7 Waterline Eye Pencil to avoid black streaks on your face in the middle of the day. A well-known dupe is Sephora Collection
12hr Colorful Contour Eyeliner.

In this video, Wayne Goss shows us how tightlining your eyes can make them look bigger:

4. Lipstick for Monochromatic Look

Your lipsticks aren’t just for lips, use it on your eyelids and your cheeks for an instant facelift. Just dot a small amount on your cheeks, and swipe it on your eyelids. Blend the product out with your fingers and fill in your puckers. Voila! A monochromatic mom makeup perfect for days when you just have no time to fix your face.

The best colors to use for this are your mauves and your nude pink lipsticks.

This is a trade secret amongst makeup artists! Just take a look at this video from Avon:

5: Liptint and Gloss

|

There is a current obsession with matte lipsticks among a lot of women, but for busy moms who need fast mommy makeup, always carry around a lip tint and a gloss.

Lip tints are multi-functional products of the beauty world. It can be used on the cheeks and on the lips, it stays on longer and wears like a dream because it works by staining your skin. So even if you eat and run around, it will not wear off like a lipstick that turns patchy throughout the day.

In addition, it can also be quickly retouched and it will still give your lips that natural, just-bitten look. Apply a gloss over it for plumper-looking effect for and youthful glow.

6: Maintain Your Frame by Shaping Your Brows

The eyebrows frame your face, what you do with it will greatly affect how your face looks. Symmetry is the least concern in this area. Taming your brows and making sure it looks clean and full is the key to keeping your face looking neat and bright.

If you have unkempt brows that you haven’t brought to the brow grooming salon, all you need is a spoolie or an old mascara wand and your body soap.

Here’s how:

  1. Wet the spoolie with water.
  2. Rub on the soap until it forms the tiniest amount of foam. (It has to be sticky enough that the soap will adhere to your eyebrow.)
  3. Brush your eyebrow upwards and to the side to keep the hair looking neat.

The next step is just a matter of keeping the arch of your brows filled.

If you don’t have an eyebrow product, grab your matte eye color that suits your natural hair. Lightly brush it on the eyebrow concentrating on the arch.

This trick will create a frame to your face and will quickly transform your face from unkempt to neat in no time.

7: Shimmer Is Key for a Gorgeous Mommy Makeup

Adding shimmer to your eyelids is the best quick makeup look hack ever. Even if you’re not a mom, this trick is perfect for those quick looks. The shimmers draw attention to your eyes and just adds a bit of sparkle to your face. It will always look good.

These mommy makeup tricks are fool-proof and useful even if you are not a mother yourself. Go ahead and share this with the most important woman of your life so that even in the middle of this lockdown, we can all feel good and nice about how we look — at least.
